Dallas Auto Insurance - How Ted Conserved Dough Using Exceptional Dallas Vehicle Insurance Discounts

By: J. David Triplett

The following story is about Ted Reed, a local Dallasite that is attending UT (University of Texas). Ted his a junior at UT, and recently made the decision to upgrade from his Cannondale Scalpel mountain bike to a new Honda Element. He recently met a girl, Isabel, which he would love to ask out for a night on the town. In order to increase his chances of her saying yes he is going to need a car.

There's a problem though. Ted has money saved up to buy his Honda Element, but because he is only 21, he knows that even the most best-in-class insurer's rate for a coverage policy is going to cost a substantial amount of money every year. Ted remembers a 'Financial Savings' class taught by Professor David Howard, in which he talked about auto insurance discounts for college students that would them to be thrifty when buying a Dallas auto insurance policy.

Part 2: Ted Decides to search for Citytrustworthy Auto Insurance Discount Information

Ted decides to take matters into his own hands by starting a search for dependable info sources on Dallas auto insurer discounts. He promptly plops himself down on his bed with his laptop and connects to the wi-fi home connection. His mind immediately goes blank.

"Where should I look first for information?" he asks himself. Almost immediately, he has an epiphany. In his Firefox browser window, he types in HotBot.com and navigates to the site. First he searches for "cheap auto insurance in dallas texas tx"; but that query proves worthless. Next he tries searching for "auto insurance Dallas Texas TX discounts" in the HotBot.com search bar.

Intriguingly enough, the very first listing on HotBot.com is for a site named www.getaquote.com. Ted clicks on the link and is directed to home page with a sienna-colored auto logo up top, and a huge copper section below that says: Enter Your Zip Code to Get a Quote Now. "What!", he thinks to himself. "This page has nothing to do with auto insurance discounts. What a Crock!"

Success With HotBot.com: Dallas Chamber of Commerce Site

A bit frustrated, he sits back and tries to recall what was covered in the Financial Responsibility class he attended. He vaguely remembers the professor stating that the unmistakable first place to look for smart info is the Dallas, Texas Chamber of Commerce website. The information on this site is dependable because of the fact that the Chamber of Commerce workers are un-biased in their findings and articles.

With his new-found epiphany he quickly hits the 'BACK' button in the browser and is directed back to the HotBot.com search page. He enters in "Dallas Chamber of Commerce", and then clicks on the top link that returns. He is taken to www.dallaschamber.org, and is relieved to find zero best-in-class advertisements, which - in his mind - means that the site is more trustworthy because they aren't trying to get any money from him. He clicks on a few links, and finally finds a link entitled "Texas Department of Insurance". Ted clicks on the link, and he is taken to the Texas Govt. site. He immediately thinks "Fantastic!"; he is delighted because he feels like his search is finally getting somewhere. Using the site's search box, he performs a search for "auto insurance discounts", and on the returned page he clicks on a copper-colored link to an article.

Interestingly enough after only 25 minutes of research via the Search links, he is able to come up with a few outstanding auto Dallas insurance discounts that are applicable to College-aged Drivers. Here's what Ted was able to come up with:
1. Good Grade Discount for College-aged Drivers
2. "Occasional Driver" Status Discount
3. Good Grade Discount for College-aged Drivers
4. Defensive Driver Course
5. Defensive Driver Course

Where to Find Trustworthy Agents - Dallas Yellow Pages (Auto Insurance)

Ted thinks out loud: "Now I need to find Dallas auto insurers." One of the more favorable things he learned from the Financial Responsibility class he took in the beginning of the year, was that the top-notch way to save money was to get multiple quotes from different agents - at least 4 different quotes from Dallas auto insurers.

Ted returns to the HotBot.com Search page, and queries a search for "us auto insurance services dallas", but is a bit turned off because the results returned seem dubious. He promptly recalls an earlier success he had finding Dallas auto insurance companies by using the Dallas Yellow Pages-Auto Insurance website, and lucky for him he conserved the link in his Favorites folder; he clicked the links and a list of Agents' phone numbers came up. He knew that it was more favorable to talk to an agent over the phone, versus signing up online, because he would need to discuss which college student Discounts they offered.

Intriguingly enough, if he were to sign up online, he would be unable to individually apply for each of the College-aged Driver discounts, so it was the top-notch solution to call an agent directly.

Ted Preserves Bucks On His Auto Policy Quote

After just 5 days, Ted was able to get back all the 'quote responses' from each of the 5 Exclusive insurers that he applied to. Just as a test, he asked the insurers to give him 2 fast quotes each: one quote price using the College-aged Driver discounts, and one quote without using the outstanding discounts. With most of the agent replies, the price savings (with college student discounts applied) was over $249! And what is even more Laborious to believe, with one insurer he was able to save $368 with the discounts! "Nice!" he exclamed, "I guess being careful & smart in my search for Dallas auto insurance was the terrific decision."
