Internet Article Marketing Is NOT Rocket Science

By: niba27

Too many people feel article writing is too difficult so they will not even attempt it. The reality is that it is a simple process many can successfully follow.

I’m willing to bet you were required to write term papers when you were in school and that part of that requirement was writing and submitting an outline first.

Article writing uses a similar process plus a little research then marketing the finished piece.

Step 1 - Brainstorm article ideas. This requires you to learn about what your customers are actually seeking or talking about. Visit forums, online groups and other places to do your research online. Your prospects will be talking about what concerns them most.

Step 2 - Once you have several ideas, take them to Google and do searches on the phrases. You might need to try multiple variations to find the lowest number of competing pages.

Step 3 - Write an attention grabbing headline that has the keyword phrase you are targeting in the first 3-4 words. Avoid using punctuation or special characters in the title because search engine spiders cannot handle them. Some of the special characters are: !@#$%^&*() Your title should also be 60 characters or less including spaces to get the most out of search engines but many article directories allow 75-100 characters including spaces.

Step 4 - Write your introductory paragraph. This should be no more than 160 characters including spaces and it will quickly summarize the benefit the reader will gain by reading your article.

Step 5 - Brainstorm what you want to cover in the article. These points will be your headings and sub-headings.

Step 6 - Write one or two sentences for each point. These sentences help you clarify in your mind the material to be covered by each point.

Step 7 - Start fleshing out each point so it represents a complete thought.

Step 8 - Combine all of the points in a logical order so the benefit to the reader logically builds desire.

Step 9 - Smooth the transition from the headline to the introduction then from one point to the next and write a closing summary.

Step 10 - Add your resource box. The article is all about the reader but the resource box is where you subtly ask the reader to do something for YOU. This may be something as simple as ‘If you enjoyed this article, you might also enjoy XYZ Article.’ The XYZ Article would contain a little more information on the subject plus your affiliate link or an optin box. IMPORTANT TIP: Place your hyperlink under keyword rich text to get the most benefit from the inbound link.

Congratulations! You have just written an article.

Publish the article and start driving traffic to it using the social bookmark sites, social network sites you belong to and other marketing methods.
