  • Spain and Language
There are a variety of languages used in Spain and also a number of dialects of these languages. Almost everyone in Spain can speak Castilian Spanish; Castilian Spanish is the official language of the country and so is used throughout Spanish Iberia. However, although the official language, Castilian isn't the only tongue that has "official" status. These other "co-official" languages are Galician, Catalan and Euskara. These co-official languages are spoken in different regions ("Comunidades") of Spain.
