Author’s Guidelines for Article Submission to Articlesbin.com
We have written these guidelines to help you understand what
we will and will not accept in submitted articles. We may explain why for some
rules but not all of them. We would appreciate it if you'd take the time to read
this page before you submit an article.
- Content Qualifications:
- Your article MUST be exclusive content you wrote OR had
written exclusively for you. If you hired a ghost writer to
write your articles, you MUST own the ONLY license to these articles and you
MUST be able to legally attach your name as the author.
Employees may
submit articles on your behalf as long as they are logged into your account
and are submitting the article just as you would.
- Private Label Rights Articles and Public Domain Articles are NOT
accepted unless they have been rewritten so they are new and
unique. You must replace a minimum of 30 percent of the original
article for it to be considered unique. Using synonyms and adding paragraphs
before and after does NOT qualify as rewriting. The title MUST be different
AND the keyword focus must be different from the original too.
- Your article MAY contain a maximum of 2 Affiliate Program Links
in the article body. These links MUST be active hyperlinks that
open in a new browser window. The URL MUST be placed under anchor
text. (No visible URLs will be allowed.)We recommend you cloak your
affiliate links by using fyiURL or a similar
service.
"We utilize fyiURL for our affiliate
links as well and can attest to their stable server platform and
incredible service which includes you being able to enter a description
and keywords for the redirect, which is entirely free."
- Your article MUST be informative and share your expertise. This may be
in the form of tips, strategies, techniques, reviews, opinions or
commentaries.
- Press releases, advertisements, sales letters, Adult oriented, or
blatantly self-promotion or hype articles will NOT be accepted.
- ALL articles MUST be written using proper English, spelling, grammar,
punctuation, capitalization and sentence structure. We use http://www.dictionary.com as the final judge on spelling
when in doubt. We acknowledge that there is a variation in what is
considered "proper English" and we ask that you be consistent within your
article. Your article must also be proofread and double
checked for accuracy by a human. NO program is currently
capable of catching missed tenses, misspelled words as they are used within
the context of that article. Poor grammar, spelling and punctuation will
mean automatic denial.
- Your article MUST NOT contain pornographic/adult
material, must NOT be hate or violence-oriented, CANNOT suggest racial
intolerance, CANNOT advocate against any individual or group, must NOT have
an insulting, obscene, degrading tone, or contain profanity.
- Your article MUST NOT be about: hacking, cracking or
bomb making.
- Articles supporting terrorism, radicalism, religious fanaticism, illicit
drugs or drug paraphernalia will be denied.
- Your article MUST NOT contain content that violates any
laws, may be considered defamatory, libelous, or infringes on the legal
rights of others.
- Articles MUST NOT be duplicate submissions or near
duplicates of the same article that you have already submitted. Nearly
identical articles are unprofessional and will drive your prospects away so
we deny these articles.
- Your article MUST NOT include any personal or email
contact information.
- Your article may NOT have your primary keyword as more
than 2% of the overall word count. You may try to claim one phrase as your
primary keyword phrase but search engines determine the primary keyword
phrase by the word most dominantly used in the article. Because of this, we
check the percentages of multiple words and phrases and will deny your
article if these guidelines are exceeded.
- You may use a common misspelling for the keyword phrase
and it will NOT be counted as a spelling error. We acknowledge that
searchers often misspell the phrases they are searching for and you should
be allowed the opportunity to provide the information they are
seeking.
- Each human may have only one account. Multiple accounts may result in
ALL accounts being deactivated or deleted.
- Article Format Guidelines:
- TITLE: Your Title MUST be in Title case. This means
every major word in the title must have the first letter capitalized.
- Articles submitted with the title in all CAPS will be denied.
- Articles submitted that are almost all lower case will be denied.
- Common words such as "a" - "the" - "to" - "for" etc. can be in lower
case if you choose provided they aren't at the beginning or the end of the
title.
- Do not use special characters in your title such as !@#$%^&*()+=/
because search engine spiders and some RSS feeds do not know how to handle
them. This means your article may not be indexed or distributed.
- Avoid punctuation in your title.
- Do not submit articles that have Microsoft Word smart quotes in your
title or it will be denied.
- Keep your title 75 characters in length or shorter including spaces.
Some search engines only allow titles of 60 characters in length including
spaces so why submit a title that may get truncated when it gets indexed
IF it gets indexed by the search engine.
- HTML tags are NOT allowed in your title.
- Do not indent your title by adding spaces or any special characters.
- Company names, domain names, URLs and author names are NOT allowed in
the title.
- Do NOT over optimize your title. The title MUST make sense to a
prospective reader.
- Your title MUST be at least 2 words in length.
- Put your keyword near the beginning of your title: The
first 3-4 words of your title usually determine whether the reader will
choose your article to read so choose the first 3-4 words wisely. Placing
the keyword phrase early in the title also makes it easier for both the
search engines and reader to see the phrase.
Example of a Bad
Keyword TITLE: Do NOT Let Acne Ruin Your Life
Example of
a Good Keyword TITLE: Acne Does NOT Have To Ruin Your Life
- Your Author Name: Your articles get branded by both
your writing style and your name. The author name shown may be your REAL
First and Last name OR one of your Pen Names.
So each article is
unique to its author, your Author Name MUST have:
- a First name and a Last name.
- a First initial and a FULL Last name.
- a FULL First name and a Last Initial.
- the first letter of both parts of the Author Name capitalized.
- Your title MAY be used after your Author Name if it is your REAL name
and you hold a doctorate-level degree (Dr., MD, DDS, PhD, etc.)
- ARTICLE BODY:
Must be a minimum of 250 words and no more than 1,500 words. For us, an
ideal article size is 400-600 words.
- Repeat your Title or Author Name in the ARTICLE
BODY and we will deny your submission.
- Articles with copyrights are not allowed.
- Disclaimers are NOT allowed. The Articlesbin
Terms of Service covers what is allowed for the use of your article..
- The RESOURCE BOX is the place you get to pitch
yourself or your website.
- The RESOURCE BOX is where you acknowledge any
co-authors.
- The following HTML tags are allowed in the
article:
- BOLD
<b></b>
- STRONG
<strong></strong>
- ITALICS
<i></i>
- EMPHASIS
<em></em>
- UNDERLINE
<u></u>
- <br>
This tag
MUST not be used unless you want to stop our script from combining short
paragraphs.
- <blockquote>to indent a
paragraph</blockquote>
- Numbered list
<ol></ol>
- Bullet Point list
<ul></ul>
Note: ALWAYS close every HTML tag that you open because failure
to close a tag will yield formatting you were not expecting.
- The following HTML tags ARE NOT ALLOWED in the
ARTICLE BODY:
- <p> and </p>
- <JAVASCRIPT> is not allowed.
- <img src> Image tags are NOT allowed.
- Changing
the Font size
orcolorisNOTallowed.<li>Headingtags(<H1>,<H2>,<H3>, etc.) are NOT allowed.
- The horizontallinetag<HR> is NOT allowed.
- Articles with Hard Line Breaks at a specified width WILL be denied. The
Enter key enters a line break when it is pressed to start a new paragraph.
Our script will format the paragraph to the desired width.
Hard Line
Breaks or the <br> tag may be used in creating bulleted or numbered
lists.
- There MUST be one and ONLY one blank line between
each paragraph.
- Do NOT end your article body with multiple
carriage returns or <br> tags. We will determine the spacing between the article body and the
resource box.
- WEBSITE ACTIVE LINKS / YOUR URL: We allow a maximum of 2 "Self-Serving" Links/URLs and 3
'reference URLs' in your article body. Please refer to 1c of this page for
URL cloaking recommendations. ALL Links/URLs in the article body MUST be
active, hidden behind anchor text AND open in a new
window.
Example: CNN is the correct way. CNN.com, http://www.cnn.com and http://www.cnn.com are NOT
acceptable.
You may also acknowledge the resource by simply saying
CNN without the extension or a hyperlink.
A Link/URL that points to
an affiliate program or to a website that you own, control or have an
interest in is a "Self-Serving" link/URL .
Self-serving links in your
article body MUST be a natural part of the article that contribute to the
article's flow and target.
You MAY have a
maximum of 5 links in the article body with EACH of them behind anchor text
and they MUST ALL open in a new window. The link limit is a maximum of (2)
"Self-Serving" and a maximum of (3) reference.
- The first paragraph of your article should be
focused entirely on your reader and NO links WILL be allowed in that
paragraph.
- <a title="CNN" target=
"_blank"href="http://www.cnn.com">CNN</a> is the HTML for the example
link to CNN above. title="CNN" is a title tag that helps search engine
spider and readers for the visually impaired understand the URL.
target="_blank" is what tells the browser to open this link in a new
window. The remainder of the code is the URL and the visible anchor text.
- Check your links before submitting so you know
they work AND that the destination website is functional and the one you
want. Dead links, 404 errors or inappropriate destination websites will
result in a denied article.
- Do not use Microsoft Word to create your HREF statements because that
program does NOT use pure HTML code.
- Author's Resource Box:
- You are allowed a maximum of 1,100 characters,
including spaces, for the content you place in your Resource Box.
- We do NOT format any of the 3 URLs that are allowed
in your Resource Box. Note: Readers like things easy. If you place inactive
URLs in your resource box, your click-thru rate will be MUCH lower than it
might be with active URLs behind good anchor text.
- Your links MUST NOT lead directly to a download.
- We do NOT knowingly allow articles with links that
point to sites that have been banned by Google.
- Each link in your Resource Box MUST point to a
different page on your website. i.e. an interior page that provides
information related to the topic of your article and your home page.
- Destination sites that violate the content
guidelines listed above will get your article denied.
- Your article will be denied if the destination site
does not load at the time we check your article. You may resubmit once the
destination site is again functional.
- The destination site CANNOT be displaying a
placeholder, parked domain or under construction splash page.
- Mailto: links in your Resource Box are NOT
acceptable. Cloak your link or send your reader to a site that has a contact
form or your email address as an image so email harvesters cannot easily
access your address.
- Your Resource Box MUST match the theme of your article. (Example: If
your article is on marketing, the destination URL in the Resource Box CANNOT
be a gambling site.)
- Keywords:
Keywords are how readers and the search engines find your article. Adding a
minimum of 3 and a maximum of 20 of the most relevant keywords when submitting
your article helps get it read. These keywords should be arranged with the
most relevant first then descending in importance.
- Please place a comma between each keyword phrase so we, the readers and
the search engines know where one ends and the next begins..
- Search engines index by keywords so please do keyword research before
writing your article so you can get optimal targeting and traffic for your
efforts.
- Keywords that are NOT related to the content of your article is
unacceptable.
- Article Summary: Every article must have a 2-5 sentence article summary that
does not exceed 160 characters including the spaces and punctuation. The
article summary exists to give your prospect a brief or summary of the
benefits that your reader will receive by reading your article.
- If you don't know what to put in your summary, use the first sentence or
two of your article IF they are within the size limit.
- HTML tags are NOT allowed in your article summary.
- You MUST use proper spelling, grammar and punctuation in your article
summary.
- The article summary MUST promote the article and not you or your
domain.
- Bulleted points or lists are not acceptable in the summary.
- The article title and the author's name are NOT allowed in the
summary.
- Article Category or Sub-Category:
Readers DO browse categories for similar articles when they are
researching a topic so placing your article in the right category is VERY
important. We reserve the right to place your article in a category different
from the one you have chosen if WE feel it is more
appropriate.
